Frequently Asked Questions

Can it actually learn my specific brand voice?

Within a session, yes. Paste your brand rules, tone description, banned terms, approved phrasing, examples of copy that's right, and every draft you check in that session is measured against them, with each finding pointing back to the rule it breaks. What it doesn't do is remember between sessions: there's no training and no stored profile, so you paste the rules each time you start. In practice that's a keyboard shortcut, and it means your brand book is never sitting on someone else's server.

Does it check visual elements like logos and colours?

Not the visuals themselves, it reads text, so it can't look at your logo, measure a colour, or tell you a mark has been stretched. What it does catch is everything written about them: a draft that says "light blue" where your guide specifies Navy Blue #005FDB, a product name written three different ways, a tagline that's been paraphrased, an old strapline that should have been retired. In practice that's where most brand drift actually happens, because copy changes hands far more often than artwork does.

Can I use this to check freelance or agency copy?

Yes, and it's the most common way people use it. Paste your brand rules, upload or paste the delivered draft, and ask what's off, the agent returns each violation with the rule it breaks and a suggested rewrite, which makes the feedback specific rather than a matter of taste. That's usually the hard part of managing external writers: "this doesn't feel like us" is impossible to action, while "the guide bans 'Hey guys' and this opens with it" is a two-minute fix.

Can I use the Brand Checker for free?

Yes. Read a document overview without signing in, then try one AI answer by typing a question, choosing a suggestion, or running the analysis. Each new upload gets one answer, shared across tools and agents. A paid plan unlocks further interactions within its AI allowance.

How secure are my files and data?

File transfers use TLS encryption. AI features may send document content to the Google Gemini API to generate the output you request. Documents are not used to train AI models. Temporary AI files are deleted within 24 hours of upload; files saved to your Library follow the Library storage policy. Read the Privacy Policy for details.

Can I check several pieces from the same campaign?

One document per session, so a campaign gets checked a piece at a time, opening the ad in one session, the landing page in another. Paste the same rules at the start of each and the standard applied is identical, which is what consistency across a campaign actually requires. It's more clicks than a batch upload, and it has one advantage: each piece gets its own findings list you can send to whoever wrote it, rather than a merged report nobody owns.

What should I put in the brand rules I paste?

Less than you'd think. A sentence or two describing the voice, the words and phrases you never use, the ones you always use, how product names are written, and two or three lines of copy that are exactly right. That's usually enough to catch most drift. A full 40-page brand book works too, but the sections that drive findings are the voice guidance and the terminology lists, the typography and logo-clearspace pages don't affect a text check. If you're not sure, paste the voice and terminology sections first and add more if the results feel thin.

Is it any good at judging tone, or is that too subjective?

Tone is subjective, which is why the agent works from your rules rather than a general idea of good writing, it's checking your draft against what you told it, not against its own taste. That makes it reliable on the concrete things: banned terms, product naming, formality, phrasing you've explicitly ruled in or out. It's weaker on judgements a brand lead would make instinctively, and it separates confirmed violations from suggested improvements so you can tell which is which. Treat the first list as decisions and the second as a conversation.
