Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work with scanned or photo-based statements?

Yes, automatically. OCR runs on every upload, so a statement you scanned or photographed is read exactly the same way a digital one is, no separate step, no setting to turn on. Accuracy still depends on the scan: a clean 300 DPI scan of a printed statement is read reliably, a blurred or angled phone photo less so. If a statement comes back with obvious gaps, straightening it with Rotate PDF or rescanning at a higher resolution fixes most of it.

Can I save my analysis or export the results?

Three ways. Use the Copy button to put an individual answer on your clipboard, or download the full session transcript as a .txt file, both work on the free plan. Saving a session to your personal Library so you can reopen the chat later is included with Professional and Premium.

Which bank formats are supported?

The agent is format-agnostic, it reads the structure of the statement rather than matching it against a template, so it isn't limited to a fixed list of institutions. Statements from Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Amex, Capital One and international banks all work, along with credit card bills, PayPal and Stripe statements, and exports from most accounting software. If a statement is laid out unusually, ask the agent what it found on a given page and correct it in the chat.

Can I use Bank Statement Analysis for free?

Yes. Read a document overview without signing in, then try one AI answer by typing a question, choosing a suggestion, or running the analysis. Each new upload gets one answer, shared across tools and agents. A paid plan unlocks further interactions within its AI allowance.

How secure are my files and data?

File transfers use TLS encryption. AI features may send document content to the Google Gemini API to generate the output you request. Documents are not used to train AI models. Temporary AI files are deleted within 24 hours of upload; files saved to your Library follow the Library storage policy. Read the Privacy Policy for details.

Is it safe to upload a bank statement to an AI tool?

File transfers use TLS encryption. AI features may send document content to the Google Gemini API to generate the output you request. Documents are not used to train AI models. Temporary AI files are deleted within 24 hours of upload; files saved to your Library follow the Library storage policy. Read the Privacy Policy for details.

Can it export my transactions to Excel or CSV?

When an AI answer includes a table, download it as CSV for Excel or Google Sheets. Ask for the transaction details you need, then check the rows and amounts against your statement. You can also download the conversation as plain text, or use PDF to Excel to convert the PDF tables into an .xlsx file.

How do I find recurring subscriptions in my bank statement?

Upload the statement and ask directly, "list every recurring charge" or "which merchants bill me monthly." The agent looks for repeated charges from the same merchant at regular intervals, including monthly, annual and less obvious biweekly patterns, and reports each with its amount and page reference. It's most useful across two or three consecutive months; annual renewals and quarterly fees won't show a pattern inside a single statement. Since each session takes one file, run each month separately and compare.

How do I know the numbers it gives me are right?

Every answer cites the page it came from, so any figure can be checked against the original statement in a couple of seconds. The agent is also instructed to answer only from the document in front of it, it won't fill a gap with an estimate or a plausible-looking number. For anything you'll file or submit, spot-check the totals against the statement's own summary line; that catches the rare parsing error immediately.

How large a statement can the agent handle?

Free supports files up to 15MB and 50 pages, Professional up to 100MB and 2,000 pages, and Premium up to 250MB and 3,000 pages. The shared AI processing allowance is 15MB per day on Free, 2.5GB per month on Professional, and 5GB per month on Premium. Free includes document overviews plus one AI answer per document across tools and agents. Uploads also follow your task limits.
