Can I edit the text that's already in my PDF?
Yes. Double-click a line or paragraph and type. FynePDF keeps the text's font, size, colour and position, rewraps the paragraph as you go and writes real text back into the file, so it stays searchable and selectable. If the original font doesn't include a letter you type, FynePDF offers a close match from its own font library and tells you before anything changes.
Is FynePDF's PDF editor free?
Yes. The free plan edits PDFs up to 15MB with every editing tool and 10 tasks a day, and downloads carry no watermark. Professional raises the limit to 250MB and Premium to 500MB, both with unlimited daily tasks.
Is my PDF uploaded while I edit it?
No. The editor opens and changes your PDF inside your browser, so the file stays on your device while you work. An unsaved copy is kept on your device too, so closing the tab by accident doesn't lose your changes. The PDF is only uploaded if you choose Save to library, where it stays private to your account.
What can I add to a PDF?
Text boxes, images, signatures and initials, tables, shapes (rectangles, ellipses, triangles, stars and lines), pen and highlighter strokes, web links, comments and notes, stamps and watermarks, page numbers, bookmarks and text that follows a path or fills a shape. You can also crop pages, add print bleed and margins, find and replace text, and align or space out objects.
Can I edit a PDF on my phone?
Yes. FynePDF works in the browser on iPhone, Android and tablets, with the same tools as on a computer. Tap to select, drag to move, pinch to zoom, and the tools sit in a bar at the bottom of the screen. Phones and tablets open PDFs up to 100MB; larger files open on a computer.
Can I edit a scanned PDF?
A scan is a picture of a page, so there's no text in it to change. You can still add text, signatures, images, shapes and links on top of it, crop pages and add page numbers. To make a scan searchable, run it through OCR PDF.
Why can't I edit one of the pages?
Before a page is changed, FynePDF checks that it can rewrite that page exactly. A few PDF features, such as special print colours and text used as a clipping mask, can't be written back without changing how the page looks, so those pages are locked and marked instead of being quietly altered. Every other page stays fully editable.
Do links, form fields and signatures still work after editing?
Existing links, bookmarks and form fields are kept. Links you add are invisible in the file but clickable in any PDF reader, and a link made on an image, shape or paragraph moves with it. A digital signature certifies a document exactly as it was signed, so editing a signed PDF invalidates that signature; make your edits first and sign last.
Can I undo my changes?
Yes. Every change can be undone and redone with the arrows in the top bar or Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Shift+Z (Cmd on a Mac), including text edits, moves, deletions and page changes.
