FynePDF MCP server
Give Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants real PDF tools - compress, convert, redact, OCR, create and more - through one remote MCP server.
https://api.fynepdf.com/mcp
FynePDF is a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP). Add it to an assistant once, sign in with your FynePDF account, and the assistant can work on PDFs itself: "compress this to under 5 MB", "redact every phone number", "turn these invoices into a spreadsheet".
Connect it
| Assistant | How |
|---|---|
| Claude | Add a custom connector with the URL above |
| ChatGPT | Developer mode, then create an app with the URL above |
| Cursor | Add to Cursor |
| VS Code | Add to VS Code |
| Claude Code | claude mcp add --transport http fynepdf https://api.fynepdf.com/mcp |
Any other client that speaks remote MCP works the same way: give it the URL, and it signs in with OAuth when a tool first needs your account.
What it can do
25 tools, each named for what it does, so an assistant picks the right one:
- Files:
upload_file,import_file_from_url,get_file,list_files,list_library_files,save_to_library - Pages:
merge_pdfs,split_pdf,edit_pages,stamp_pdf - Smaller and safer:
compress_pdf,protect_pdf,redact_pdf - Convert:
convert_from_pdf,convert_to_pdf,ocr_pdf - Create and sign:
create_pdf,sign_pdf - AI:
ask_pdf,summarize_pdf,extract_data,smart_edit - Help:
get_job,search_docs,list_actions
Each has its own page under MCP tools in the menu.
Signing in, and who pays
The first time a tool needs your account, the assistant opens fynepdf.com to sign in, then asks you to allow it. After that:
- Work counts against your fynepdf.com plan, the same as on the website: a job is one of your daily tasks, and AI reads use your AI allowance. No API key or credits needed.
search_docsandlist_actionswork before you sign in.- Disconnect any time in Developers, Assistants; it stops working at once.
Running your own agent instead? Send an API key as the bearer token; it spends credits like the API.
Getting files in
- Claude and ChatGPT show a drop zone in the chat, or upload a file you attached.
- ChatGPT can also hand over files from the conversation directly.
- Any client: a public link (
import_file_from_url) or a file from your FynePDF Library. - Files on your computer: run the local server with
npx @fynepdf/mcp; it addsupload_local_fileanddownload_file.
Results come back as a download link and, in Claude and ChatGPT, a card in the chat with a preview, Download and Save to Library. Files are deleted after 24 hours unless you save them.
