Limits and pricing

FynePDF API credits, free monthly allowance, credit packs, rate limits, file sizes and how long files are kept.

Credits

Live keys spend credits; test keys are free. Every account gets 250 free credits a month (up to 50 of them on AI steps), used before bought ones.

AI steps (ask, summarize, extract, redaction finding, edit, and PDF to Excel with AI) cost 2 credits per page read. "Started" means a partial block counts as a whole one: a 120-page compress is 2 blocks of 100.

POST /v1/jobs/quote prices a job before you run it. A step that fails is never charged.

Test keys: 10 MB files and 100 jobs a day per account; a result that isn't a PDF covers the first 3 pages. Over a rate limit, you get 429 with Retry-After.

Jobs and files

  • Up to 20 input files and 8 steps per job; a call waits for its job up to 60 seconds.
  • Files sent in the request body: up to 25 MB (larger ones use an upload URL).
  • Files and results are deleted after 24 hours; download links last an hour.
  • metadata on a job: up to 20 string keys and values.

Assistants use your plan

When Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant signs in to your account through the MCP server, its work counts against your fynepdf.com plan (tasks and AI allowance), not your credits.

  • Smart Edit follows the website's rules: its files a day, and its changes per file.
  • AI calls (ask, summarize, extract) also have a fair-use limit of 200 a day on Free and 1,000 on paid plans, counted from 00:00 UTC. A person asking questions doesn't reach it.
  • The Library (list, open, save) works only for an assistant signed in this way, never with an API key.
