# split_pdf: Split PDF

Split a PDF into parts by page ranges ("1-3", "4", "5-9") or into parts no bigger than max_part_mb. Returns a ZIP of the parts.

A tool of the [FynePDF MCP server](https://fynepdf.com/developers/docs/mcp) (`https://api.fynepdf.com/mcp`). Makes a new file; the original is kept.

## Ask for it

- "Split this into pages 1-3 and 4-10."
- "Split it into files under 10 MB each."

## Inputs

| `file_id` | string |  | A FynePDF file_id from upload_file, import_file_from_url or an earlier tool. |
