# Claude

Add FynePDF to Claude (claude.ai and the Claude apps) as a custom connector and work on PDFs in your chats.

## Add the connector

1. In Claude, open **Settings, Connectors** (on some versions, **Customize, Connectors**).
2. Choose **Add custom connector**.
3. Name it `FynePDF` and enter the URL:

```text
https://api.fynepdf.com/mcp
```

4. Choose **Add**, then **Connect**. fynepdf.com opens: sign in and choose **Allow**.

If Claude asks how the connector signs in, choose **Sign in when needed**, not "No sign-in": FynePDF's tool list opens without an account, so Claude can guess wrong. Leave the OAuth fields empty; Claude registers itself. Connectors you add on claude.ai also work in the desktop and mobile apps. On the Free plan you can add one custom connector; on Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it for the organization.

## Use it

Turn FynePDF on for a chat from the tools menu, then ask in plain words:

- "Compress this PDF to under 5 MB."
- "Redact every name and phone number in this contract."
- "Turn these three invoices into one Excel sheet."
- "Make an invoice for Acme: 3 hours of consulting at $120, 10% tax."

Attach the file to the chat, or let Claude show FynePDF's drop zone. The result comes back as a card with a preview, Download and Save to Library.

## When something's off

- **"Connect" does nothing:** allow pop-ups for claude.ai; the sign-in opens in a new window.
- **A tool asks you to sign in again:** you disconnected it in [Developers, Assistants](https://fynepdf.com/developers/dashboard?section=assistants), or the sign-in expired. Choose Connect again.
- **"Plan limit reached":** the job went over your fynepdf.com plan's daily tasks or AI allowance. The message names the limit.
