- Rubric-Aware Feedback

## Review Your Assignment in 3 Steps

Review your argument, evidence, and clarity before revising your own draft.

1. **Upload**: Drop in your essay. Your draft is encrypted and never used to train models.
2. **AI Extraction**: The agent reads your structure and weighs your arguments against rubrics.
3. **Review & Improve**: Get actionable feedback and refine your assignment for better flow.

## Review Your Assignment

Improve your argument while keeping your own voice.

Review an essay, report, or assignment with feedback grounded in your draft. Add a rubric, ask about weak arguments or unclear writing, and use the suggestions to make revisions in your own words.

- **Strengthen Arguments**: Check how claims connect to evidence.
- **Check Citation Gaps**: Find references that need attention.
- **Review the Rubric**: Add grading criteria to check your draft.

## Understand what your assignment needs.

Review arguments, writing, and the rubric while keeping the work in your own voice.

- **Subject-Specific Advice**: Review your assignment's structure and argument in context. Ask how to improve a literature review, essay, or lab report in your subject.
- **Writing and Structure**: Find unclear sentences, weak transitions, and gaps in your draft. Ask for practical ways to improve the flow of your academic assignment.
- **Keep Your Own Voice**: Get feedback on what to revise and why it matters. Use the suggestions to strengthen your assignment while keeping the writing your own.
- **Explain, Summarize, Ask**: Select text in your PDF to explain a term, summarize a passage, or ask a question. Explore the detail you need without retyping it into chat.
- **Highlighted Sources**: Click a page citation to open your PDF at the source. When a text match is found, the passage is highlighted so you can check the AI answer.
- **Export Tables as CSV**: Download tables from AI answers as CSV files. Keep the rows and columns ready for Excel, Google Sheets, or your next document analysis.

## Feedback Before Submission

Review the argument, structure, and clarity of your assignment against your brief.

- **School Students**: Check your essay structure, paragraph links, and conclusion. Ask for explanations of the feedback so you can revise the draft in your own words.
- **University Students**: Review your assignment against the brief or rubric you provide. Find weak arguments and unclear passages before revising your submission.
- **Research Students**: Review the structure and clarity of a thesis chapter or research draft. Ask where evidence, explanations, or transitions need more attention.

How your files are handled during and after your session.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does it check for plagiarism or write the essay for me?

No, on both counts, and deliberately. It won't write your assignment from scratch and it won't help you get past your institution's originality checks. What it does is act like a tutor reading a draft: it flags arguments that don't hold, structure that wanders, citations that are missing or malformed, and grammar that's getting in the way, and explains why each matters, so the revision is yours. If you want to check your own work for copied passages or AI-generated writing before you submit, that's a separate job and Plagiarism & AI Detector does it.

### Can I save the feedback and come back to it?

Three ways. Copy an individual note straight from the chat, or download the whole review session as a .txt file, both work on the free plan. Saving a session to your Library so you can reopen it while you revise is included with Professional and Premium.

### Can it review my work against a specific grading rubric?

Yes, and it's the most useful thing you can do with it. Paste your rubric into the chat and the agent works through your assignment against those exact criteria rather than generic standards, telling you which requirements the draft meets, which it only partly addresses, and which it misses entirely. Rubrics vary enormously between modules, so this is usually more useful than any general feedback.

### Can I use Assignment Review for free?

Yes. Read a document overview without signing in, then try one AI answer by typing a question, choosing a suggestion, or running the analysis. Each new upload gets one answer, shared across tools and agents. A paid plan unlocks further interactions within its AI allowance.

### How secure are my files and data?

File transfers use TLS encryption. AI features may send document content to the Google Gemini API to generate the output you request. Documents are not used to train AI models. Temporary AI files are deleted within 24 hours of upload; files saved to your Library follow the Library storage policy. Read the Privacy Policy for details.

### Is it cheating to use AI to review my essay?

Getting feedback on your own writing is normal academic practice, it's what a writing centre, a supervisor or a study partner does, and this agent is built to do that and nothing more. Where it becomes a problem is if you paste its suggested rewrites verbatim: at that point the sentences are not yours, and depending on your institution's policy that can count as unauthorised assistance. The safe way to use it is to read what it flags, understand why, and rewrite in your own words. And check your course's specific policy, rules on AI assistance differ between institutions, and often between modules to the same degree.

### Will Turnitin or an AI detector flag my essay after I use this?

Not because of the review itself, reading feedback leaves no trace in your document. What can be flagged is text you copy across from a suggested rewrite, because that sentence was generated by a model and detectors are looking for exactly that. This is the practical reason to revise in your own words rather than paste: it keeps your writing yours, and it's also what your institution's policy almost certainly requires. Worth knowing too that AI detectors produce false positives on perfectly human writing, especially from non-native English speakers, so a clean draft is no guarantee either way. If you want to see how your finished work reads before you hand it in, Plagiarism & AI Detector will check it.

### Can it predict what grade I'll get?

No, and it doesn't try to. There's no score and no predicted mark, because grading depends on your marker, your module's criteria and how your work sits against the rest of the cohort, none of which the agent can see, and a number would give that guesswork a confidence it hasn't earned. What it gives instead is specific and checkable: a thesis that doesn't do what the introduction promises, a paragraph with no evidence behind it, a citation that isn't in your reference list. Fix those and the mark tends to follow.

### Will it fix my citations and references?

It flags citation problems, references cited in the text but missing from the list, entries that don't match the required style, incomplete details, and explains what's wrong with each. It won't invent a publication date or a page number it can't see in your document. For a full pass across an APA, MLA or Chicago reference list, APA/Citation Checker is built for that specific job and goes deeper.
